Log

Steve Pirk, also known as "Orion" or "egrep", was a visionary gamer who founded the DeathCon.com gaming website in June 1998 from his bungalow in Eagle Rock, California. The website was created to provide a friendly environment for Quake players to play online video games. Steve's passion for gaming extended beyond his websites. He would organize LAN parties at his home and place of employment where fans from all over could come together and spend the day hanging out and playing a variety of different games such as Quake 2, Half-Life 2, Tribes, Unreal Tournament, and Counter-Strike.

Steve's website was instrumental in bringing together the Quake community and providing a platform for gamers to connect and play together. His contributions to the gaming community have left a lasting impact and continue to inspire gamers to this day. Steve's legacy is a testament to the power of passion and community in the gaming world. Despite his untimely demise in February 2020 from his battle with leukemia, Steve's contributions and legacy continue to inspire gamers to this day. His life is a reminder that passion and community can create a lasting impact that transcends time and space.

Steve's story is a great example of how one person's passion can bring together a community and create something that lasts beyond their lifetime. His dedication to gaming and his community has inspired many and will continue to do so. Steve's legacy is a reminder that we can all make a difference in the world by pursuing our passions and building communities around them. Let us all strive to be like Steve and leave a lasting impact on the world.
